')Vancouver hockey riots show dark side of Canada. Progressive how?

Yesterday, the Vancouver Canada Canucks lost the Stanley Cup (NHL Hockey Championship) to the
Boston Bruins. How did the Vancouver fans, who live in a country heralded for peace, progressive
politics, free healthcare, and all other magical things that everyone living in a metropolitan city in
America has been on Canada's dick for the last ten years, respond to this disappointment?
They took to the streets, rioted, burned and flipped over cars, smashed windows, and attacked riot police. Wow, how progressive.
In Seattle, when the Sonics were sold by Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz and moved to Oklahoma City in what many cited as a shady deal and a tragedy for Seattle fans, (which a reasonable person can identify as a bigger disappointment than losing a championship) the fans of the Sonics used peaceful consumer tactics, and expressed their disappointment by attempting a boycott of Starbucks. Canadians violently rioted when they lost a championship; we staged a boycott when we lost an entire sports team. That basically means Canada is 500 years behind us in evolution. So next time anyone says they're going to "move to Canada if this President is elected", that basically means they're going to cross the border and travel back in time to the Middle Ages.
I know most of you are thinking, that's just a few bad apples, most Canadians are intelligent members of society and did not riot. Sorry, but you're only as good as you're weakest link. We're as bad as Donald Trump and the music of Ke$ha, and they're as bad as people simultaneously rocking the mullet and an Affliction t-shirt. And I'm pretty sure I know what the Affliction is, you're a douche whose civil behavior is dependent on men playing a less advanced version of Quidditch on ice.
Let me confess, that I love when things go wrong for country's whose nuts we jock in America for being progressive. For example: Europe, the Mecca for progressive white people; Greece, Ireland, Portugal, and Spain are nearly bankrupt. They have great government programs, high taxes on the rich, huge government influence in business, all things progressives get wet about, and they have no money!!! I'm sorry, but that brings joy to my heart. Am I celebrating because people in those countries are facing tough times? No. I'm celebrating because it's the wake-up call that progressives in this country will hopefully receive, that we should not attempt to emulate these countries' shittiness.
And let's take a look at what progressives consider progressive. Now I would consider progressive to mean "progress" or "moving forward" with new ideas and progressives would strongly agree. Here are their ideas: higher taxes on the rich, huge government programs, free health care, huge government influence in business, high regulations, and more social controls on American society. Hmmm, sounds like progressives want to warp back to either FDR era America, or even better, Stalin era Russia. You know what was progressive, knocking down the Berlin wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. That was the death of socialism and anyone who would like to bring back some of those failed, archaic ideals as a retro fashion of government is a reactionary, not a progressive.
What about Sweden? They're socialist and successful. Yes they are, but that doesn't mean we are capable of imitating them. In the 70's, Detroit automakers were so in awe of the Japanese Toyota's efficient factory production, that they asked if they could visit a Toyota factory. Toyota said sure and the Detroit people visited and took notes, returned to Detroit, and failed to implement the Japanese method of production. Instead of trying to imitate other countries, we s focus on what we're good at: free business, free ideas, free society, being awesome, and stop trying to fuck it up with progressive ideas. And as for the environment, I'm pretty sure there's not a single green technology the government has yet to invent, so let's let business handle it.
