Job Shortage or People Surplus
By: Unwelcome Perpespective
All we’ve been hearing about in national news for the past year is jobs and unemployment. "Not enough jobs, the government needs to make more jobs, Obama’s stimulus hasn’t made enough jobs, why hasn’t the Fed created any jobs." Everyone is telling us that unemployment is too high because there are not enough jobs. Why hasn’t anyone looked at the other side of that equation? Maybe there are just enough jobs and TOO MANY PEOPLE.
So let’s stop pointing our fingers at the politicians and the corporations, and take a moment to thank the people that are doing their part to create jobs and get Americans back to work: Abortion doctors, hospice centers, condom wearers, and guys like me who jack off on a regular basis. Every time I rub one out, I think, “How nice, a cashier position just opened up at Target. A crackhead will have a warm bed to sleep in tonight at the county jail.” These are the true leaders of economic recovery in America.
And by the way, how the hell does one go about creating jobs? I’ve been raised to think that jobs were things that needed to be done. If all the jobs are filled, than clearly everything that society demands to be worked on, is already being done. So creating jobs would seem like, I don’t know, a giant waste of everybody’s time. This isn’t the 1930’s; we don’t need our tax dollars being used to erect statues of the cast of the Jersey Shore fornicating their futures away. Everybody needs to calm down about jobs and let the unemployment cycle run its course. Let the big wigs worry about things CNN viewers wouldn’t understand, like inflation. Personally I would rather have 10% of Joe Shmoes out of a job, than pay $40 for a cheeseburger. But I guess I\'m a little biased, I have a job.
