Brushstrokes upon Canvas

Living the dream if but only for a day is wealth beyond ones greatest expectation. Artistic expression, whether it be brushstrokes upon canvas or taking quill to parchment has the potential to live forever. The creative process is unique in that respect, fore eternal life has its limitations among mankind. Although it may not be rare, surely it is not often enough, the writer reaches out and touches the very soul of his audience.Even if just for a fleeting moment, the artist is living the dream. One only needs to glimpse at history to realize the most fruitful epoch in civilization stressed artistic expression. Therefore, I say yea to the Age of Pericles, the Renaissance and Dadaism.
We live in a culture of Fear and Hatred. The power-grabbing Politics behind this climate are controlled by the Media and Politicians.Typically the Mid-Term Elections do not produce a big turnout.
Hopefully this cycle will be an aberration. Those Politicians whom stoke fear and hatred need not apply for another term as leaders of this once great Nation.
There have been times throughout history when the climate cultivated was one of artistic expression. These times have been good for civilization. People need to feel good about themselves for society to thrive.
It does not behoove one to constantly look over his shoulder. Surely it is best for citizens to peer upon the heavens for inspiration, not airplanes exploding into buildings.
It is for this reason, we as a people must maintain our focus. It is for this reason we as a people must look beyond a Mosque/ Community Center built in of all places, downtown Manhattan. It is for this reason, we owe it to posterity, we owe it to our children's children, we owe it to the historians whom we have their day of judgment.
